Written by lifelong actor and creative writer Geoffrey Gould (that would be me...), Sarah is an award winning dark-comedy short film script with a semi-horror twist. Its premise is the dreadful concept that an innocent child may have a background about which even she is unaware. Should it get funded, the talent attached to the project may include (if she's still open to it), Kassie Johnson, who read the role of Sarah for its workshopped table-read We Make Movies, although understandably, for the short, Kassie would be playing Sarah's mother. The role of Sarah would/is to be played by a girl around seven to nine years old. When I saw Abby Ryder Fortson as Harper in The Whispers, and as Paul Rudd's daughter in the two Ant-Man films, he was astonished how Perfect as Sarah she was, at that age. Sadly without no funding when Abby was at the correct age as in the scrpt, she could no longer be castable. The script is what is referred to as a Micro-Short, literally being only two pages of script. When it was workshopped with We Make Movies, one of the feedback complimentary comments received was, "You opened our hearts, only to pour inky darkness into them..." The script was written in 2007 as one of several short scripts for a local "film festival" that turned out to be a scam: they were trying to acquire free content for a new online website. Before learning of the scam aspect, a circle of filmmaking friends wrote numerous scripts for said "festival," of which about 20+ short films were hastily shot. Of Geoffrey Gould's contributions, two scripts were made, but due to various issues, both need to be remade to have a correct production level with which for them to be [actual] film festival levels. The film has been submitted to numerous film festivals, certainly those with Micro-Short as a category. So far its first win was with the Uruvatti International Film Festival though on their site's Awards results aspect does not yet clarify who won what category, considering Devil's Ridge also won at the same festival, but no clarification as to its category. On 26 December 2020 I received the Win certificate for Sarah winning for best Micro-Short Script. On 01 January 2021 Sarah was listed as a Finalist for the Hollywood Blood Horror Film Festiva, though their provided Laurels page only contains Official Selection and Winner laurels. On 04 I learned January 2021 Sarah was an Official Selection for Best Short Script for the Hollywood Art and Movie Awards. 21 November 2023 I'd submitted Sarah to the Death Skull International Film Festival, along with Private Number, Shower Shadow, and Devil's Ridge. Private Number won for Best Short Script/Screenplay outright, Sarah won for Outstanding Achievement, Shower Shadow won their Special Jury Award, and Devil's Ridge received the festival's Special Mention award.
