Written by lifelong actor and creative writer Geoffrey Gould (that would be me...), Private Number is a dark-comedy short film script with horror and suspense overtones. Its premise is based on one of the creepier aspects of the paranormal: an actual unexplained paranormal phenomenon, but here with my own wit and dark humoured spin on it. A member of the Hollywood based film collective We Make Movies, I workshopped the short script at one of their public table-read nights (pre CCP Virus); one the first feedback comment received was from the group's board of directors head: "I think we just heard one of the winners of our next script competition." Another comment was from a fellow writer that the script's concise story has "zero percent fat." My script for Bucky was one of their four winners of the group's 2nd annual script competition, providing a budget for it to be made. Unfortunately shortly thereafter, taking advantage of the 2020 CCP Virus, the California governor and Los Angeles mayor would do everything they could outside their lawful authority to cripple the entertainment Industry. While Bucky was a bottle-script (meaning a single location), Private Number has two major locations; an exterior location for filming during the day, and a quick scene shortly after nightfall, then one interior which could be filmed that evening, as it would only be a few set-ups. With the state in thrall to the overblown hype of a virus far less virulant that was being falsely conveyed, for the exterior scene the main cemetery I would want to use might be/remain unavailable. So far Private Number has won Best Script at seven festivals: the Wallachia International Film Festival the Creepy Tree Film Festival (CTFF), the Hollywood Blood Horror Festival, the - New Cinema - Lisbon Monthly Film Festival, and it first win being at the Hollywood Art and Movie Awards, held in Santa Monica. The script also received a positive review at PixelsGarage

2023 Not exactly an update, but just a quite note that with the lockdowns ended, the main location reopened. All we need now is funding...

21 November 2023 I'd submitted Private Number to the Death Skull International Film Festival, along with Devil's Ridge, Shower Shadow, and Sarah. Private Number won for Best Short Script/Screenplay outright, Sarah won for Outstanding Achievement, Shower Shadow won their Special Jury Award, and Devil's Ridge received the festival's Special Mention award.
