Kat Klockow
Tonight we had returning guest, and former co-host, paranormal investigator and author
Kat Klockow.
Tonight we were discussing her new project, the ghost-story anthology comic book
Cincinnati Cabinet of Curiosities.
Kat is its
editor.
The six-story anthology project has a
Kickstarter
campaign.
(to which
I
contributed to the campaign while we were
talking.)
Artists
Christina Wald
(who was in the
chat room
during the show),
Jay Kalagayan,
and
Dylan Speeg
worked on the stories, Kat did one as well.
Kat spoke of
Loveland Castle,
Ohio Mermaids,
Loveland Frogman,
Satan's Hollow,
et al.
Kat spoke of visiting the
Sedamsville Rectory.
Henry
recommeded Kat check out
Rose Hill Cemetery,
providing a classic Vanishing Hitchhiker type tale.
We spoke about her co-hosting
Cincinnati Cabinet of Curiosities
Hometown Haunts
YouTube podcast.
We started to talk about
Dent School House
but got distracted.
Ceiling Cat Barbara Duncan
reported that tonight we had listeners from the US. the UK, Canada, and the Netherlands
Someone in the chat room asked if Kat has ever checked out the
Lorain Palace Theater,
but it's too far north for Kat.
Kat explained how the Southgate, Kentucky
Beverly Hills Supper Club fire
in 1977 has No Ghost Stories, and probably won't for about a hundred years.
Kat and I spoke of the cultural distinctions between Japanese and American ghost-imagery, specifically in horror films.
I suggested to Kat the surreal, weird AF Japanese movie
Hausu
(aka
House).
Henry spoke of the loss of
Ryan's Tavern,
and under new ownership, being "repurposed" into a differenmt style restaurant. and sadly no more paranormal investigations permitted.
"Tabby" Cat Gasch
asked in the chat room about
Amy of Lick Road
which Kat considered the True Crime story, but as Amy still has living relatives, Kat decided against it.
She was tempted, considering
ghost sightings
there are keeping alive this cold case.
Kat got back to speaking about the
Sedamsville Rectory,
where Kat witnessed not only Staffordshire Terrior ghost dogs, she experienced a doppleganger.
At one point Kat saw her friend speaking with someone who was the clear duplicate of one of the investigators.
Her friend looked up from her note-taking and saw the "person" to whom she was speaking had no face; the entity fled down te hallway and evaporated...
