John Kachuba
Tonight we had longtime friend of our show, author and paranormal investigator
John Kachuba.
Henry
mentioned a new book,
Shapeshifters, a History,
which doesn't seem to be in his list of books on Amazon.
While trying to figure out why Skype was being characteristically uncooperative, Henry and
Ceiling Cat Barbara Duncan
were on their own tonight.
Henry pointed out
I
was still working at Madame Tussauds wax museum, as it was a few months before the unlawful lockdowns "due to" the
CCP virus.
Finally they were able to get all three on the call.
CC reported that the
chat room
was having troble hearing Henry's audio, which indeed was soft.
On listening to the playback, I realised, with the new
Paranormal View YouTube Channel
I created and admin, I would have to deal with amplifying Henry's lower-audio vocalizations.
Henry had John discuss What Is a Shapeshifter.
John clarified it is someone who can shift shape into animals and back, although sometimes into resembling other people, and even inanimate objects.
He spoke how some are involuntary and/or hereditary, and others might acquire the talent.
Some was via mythologicaly, but othesr are based on religious belief.
CC was curious how, such as in ancient Egyptology, their deities had partial animal aspects.
John indicated that such deities were "nornally" part animal, as opposed to fully shifting shape tpo a fill animal form.
He spoke about the classic cave art of a shaman or such having shifted particlally into a deer.
He spoke about Zeus being challenged by a mortal, who killed his son, cooked and served the son to Zeus, who indeed was aware of what the mortal had done, cursing the man by changing him into a wolf.
John spoke of madness in medieval times in which some men behaved as wolves, but did not physically change.
Henry brought up
David Icke's
theory of reptilian shape shifters, which John explained.
Also touched on the skinwalkers of
Skinwalker Ranch..
He spoke of the original
Vlad Tepes
on whom Bram Stoker based
Dracula,
and how even today in Romania and Transylvania vampires are spoken of albeit in hushed whispers.
He spoke of various methods as well as preventative measures, to avoid vampire attacks.
They mused about the animal within all of us, and our maintaining our humanity against yielding to Wild Side of our nature.
CC reported our having listeners tonight in the US, the UK, Canada, and Spain.
It was interesting that he used the shapeshifter character Odo from
Deep Space Nine
as an example.
He spoke of a Spanish pharmacy accidentally switching children medication so instead of being rtreated for hypertension, they got hair growth medication, causing excessive hair growth.
Oops...
Henry asked about "fluid shapeshifter," but John could not recall to what Henry was referring.
Henry cited Chapter Eight; John clarified he was referring to fluidity in sexuality identity.
Also clarified was some of JK Rowling's mythos with her
Harry Potter
saga.
John is pleased that many cultures, notably native American, that retain their history through oral history.
