and folklorist
Alan Brown
of
The Haunting of Alabama,
et al.
Of his many books, he's been to about three quarters of the locations listed in his books.
The rest are based on interviews regardin first hand experience.
After 2005 it became easier to elicit information of having had a paranormal experience, what with the "advent" of Ghost Adventures.
A history lover, Alan prefaces the stories he gathers with historical context of the respective locations discussed.
Henry
had Alan discuss various stories from his book.
Alan's wife, a retired math teacher, tends to have "all the" paranormal experiences when they visit haunted Bed and Breakfasts.
Knowing that colleges and universities tend to be haunted,
I
asked whether his
University of West Alabama
was haunted.
Alan clarified that the university is so haunted that
Alan gives campus ghost tours,
as well as hostng ghost tours in town.

had visited a
haunted bridge
in
Georgia
near
Keys Castle
called
Devil's Kitchen.
Henry had Alan speak about
haunted
Cedarhurst Mansion
and
Sally Carter's grave.
One of
Alan's favourite haunted mansions is
Gaineswood Plantation.
He spoke about a lttle boy haunting
Bluff Hall.
Haunted Mirrors was discussed, particularly the one at the famous
Myrtile Plantation.
He also touched on the
Merrehope Mansion
in Meridian.

Alan spoke of the
Red Lady
at
Huntington College.

Also a story about a very haunted college library's ghost.
He told a story of the urban legend of
Huggin' Molly
was to scare kids from staying out after dark; there's even a
restaurant with the same name.
Always having wanted to investigate there, Henry had Alan discuss
Sloss Furnaces.
Henry conveyed our guest the next week would be
rescheduled
