Randy Russell
Tonight's our guest was
Randy Russell,
author of haunted southern hospitals titled
The Ghost Will See You Now.
My audio kept cutting in and out, so I'd have to wait for the podcast to clarify details; those I already had I could include on the report.
Russell began by explaining his origins as a folklorist and researcher, and getting into ghost stories by interviewing people.
Also early discussed about so many hospitals being rich in paranormal activity, as well as centuries' old southern hotels.
He spoke about various southern cemeteries having over the years generated unmarked graves and coffin hollows.
CC clarified that outside church properties, graveyards are cemeteries.
He spoke about various mausoleums, one of which had its owner's dog opening the mausoleum door until they chained it shut.
Henry had him speak about the Towel Screamer ghost, an Arkansas residual haunting of a woman who had been killed after showering.
Randy spoke at length with his fascination with Shadow People.
He also discussed ghosts imparting specific information.
After the first break, CC indicated our having listeners tonight in the US, Canada, the UK, Haiti, and... Somewhere Unknown...
Randy discussed
Zelda Belle,
F. Scott Fitzgerald's wife, plus the horrific practice of lobotomies.
He spoke about hospital morgues being predictably active, as well as discussing haunted specific object.
After the second break, Randy discussed the New Orleans
Casket Girls,
who came over to live in a convent; their possessions in a small casket boxes and stored in the convent attic, though this shifted in lore as their possibly being vampires.
Randy also spoke of New Orleans Ghost Cats at Toullouse Street, ghostly lights, and ghost trains.
Randy did convey his own experience regarding a ghost sighting.
The spirit turned out to resemble the person who'd build the cabin-like house in which Randy had seen it.
Randy spoke about one story about the
Memphis Orpheum Theatre.
at which a ghost girl in white who sits in balcony seat C5.
Even
Yul Brynner reported
having seen her as he performed there.
