Fitting
A week or so earlier, my calling service called to clarify I'd be in town around Indendence Day, as via
Rich King
I could be needed July 3rd and 5th.
This would have been great as being within the same week
(Wednesday and Friday),
surrounding July 4th, we would get paid for July 5th, a holiday aspect I'd not experienced before or since
Along Came Polly.
I was contacted Tuesday the 27th for a next-day fitting at the Edith Head Costume Department building at Universal studios, but also told I would be working Wednesday the 3rd but not indication of working on the 5th, in fact indicating others working on the 5th but not the 3rd.
Rich King's recording indicated a daytime poolside party at a wealthy Beverly Hills former rock-star home, which I interpreted this as what is referrred as upscale casual.
It turned out, it was to be more than just casual upscale.
When I arrived with my general upscale casual, I should have brought considerably more, such as my jacket, ties, et al.
I confess it was considerably amateurish of me, and I apologized to the somewhat frustrated wardrobe ladies several times.
I was early, as always, but I learned their department had a $2000 budget to dress a hundred people for this scene.
At first I thought this was a small independent film,
but the PA who arrived with the vouchers,
indicated the film, titled
Imagined,
was a bit over $16M, starring
Al Pacino
and
Jennifer Garner
(with whom I'd worked on
Dude, Where's My Car?),
and
(written and)
directed by
Dan Fogelman,
who's written a number of films I've enjoyed including but not limited to
Crazy, Stupid Love
and
Bolt.
I promised to bring with me on the day the options I should have brought with me this day,
though I was fitted with two of their options: a dark jacket and a different, very flowery Hawaiian type shirt.
As right from there I was headed to my storage unit "anyway," to pay for the next month, I brought back with me a small suitcase into which to bring with me that day, as well as for the upcoming Missouri
Everything
feature film shoot,
as well as two to three probable commercials for
Jeffery Williams.
