Return of author Kat Klockow
This date was a welcome return appearance of author Kat Klockow, who had been a guest back in early February. For the weekend I was house- and cat-sitting for my friends in San Pedro, and my friend's laptop to which I had access was having access issues. I could get online via her profile, but not the one she'd set up for me. And the laptop didn't have Skype. So I had to wait to see if Henry could call me in via my cell phone.
They started out mentioning her Haunted Hoosier Halls: Indiana University. She'd just done an investigation at Mansfield Reformitory in Ohio.
As she relayed her experiences, Henry called me, but the call dropped after about a minuite....
I went back to listening to the "live" chat (it's on a considerable online delay) until Henry got me back on again. We continued discussing Mansfield, their being "attacked" by bats, and seeing lots of Shadow People, even a few reaching out from cells, and a few grabs. She were able to investigate for about seven hours, from 9pm to 4am. She had access to several different aspects of the building, solitary confinement, central area, chapel, tuberculosis ward, east and west cellblocks, shower area and warden's office, etc. Evidence contamination could happen when different groups converged, and once they got close enough they could see and hear the other group/s.
The group with which she went did some dowsing, and she indicated the abandoned Reformatory being an aspect of a still-working prison, creating ambient light through the windows, particularly the chapel. Turns out the prison aspect is meters from the Very High Maximum security, with criminals so brutal they couldn't even be put in Death Row...!
Henry had Craug take us out to break, from which Henry "mistakenly" having cued up my Dalek outro I'd created that he'd played for the first time last week.
During the break, in the chat room Kat provided a link to a Ohio State Reformatory paranormal activity map.
We came back after the music filled break (mostly "just" Piano Man), Henry reported tonight's listeners being from/in the US, UK, Australia and Finland.
Kat "complained" that she's not yet gone to Waverly or Gettysburg, particularly as she lives close to Waverly. Henry offered to escort her to Waverly next time he went; and Craig would escort her next time she wants to go to Gettysburg.
She then conveyed having a recent (the previous Wednesday) experience in her home. Due to an intensely bad odour, Kat woke from a dream (the stench being flesh decomposition), to find standing at the foot of her bed, a Black Eyed Kid...!
Back to Manfield, Kat told that while no females have been incarcerated there, there are at least two female ghosts, the warden's wife and a possible nurse.
And the ghost of Phoebe Wise, who can sometimes be seen hobbling down on the nearby road, vanishing near the Reformatory.
The admission tickets for the investigation was $60, which may have been a bit inflated as not all the slots were filled, and some had to submit a bit more.
Craig noticed that Henry's Skype had been being very cooperative this show; no echoes or such. After I took us out for the 6pm'ish break , on our return we discussed other investigations, such as a haunted theme park housed on a former military base in which had some significant Shadow Person activity; her first experience using dowsing rods.
Craig asked after a few of the aspects of her Haunted Hoosier Halls: Indiana University book, such as places at which one can investigate, some far more extremely active than others such as Gibbons' Whispers Estate of Mitchell, Indiana, which she indicated having numerous YouTube videos.
Craig had her speaking again of the haunted Crump Theatre in Columbus, Indiana. There she's been poked in the back, and as she turned back at the others, they had reported seeing the fabric of the back of her hoodie visibly indent as she was being poked...
Craig then brought up a story from her book: the McNutt Hatchet man... a popular urban legend.
Henry, Craig and I were already curious as to the disappearance of her urbanlegendsdetective.com website. She explained that the site was closed due to traffic not being able to find the long URL, so they were working on huntforghosts.com website which would be up in a week or so...
Kat also still does graphic novel work, including but not limited to Miss Grey Resurrection (also promoted on Facebook).
Kat provided her upcoming event schedule, her Facebook profile information, et al.
We wrapped with Henry indicating some upcoming guests in the future, that the Next week would be a live broadcast from The Crump Theatre (while I attend STU Con).
The subsequent week: Craig would be investigating at Red Mill....
