John Kachuba
Tonight for our year-end show, we had
returning guest,
author
John Kachuba
of
Ghosthunting Ohio On the Road Again,
Ghosthunters: On the Trail of Mediums, Dowsers, Spirit Seekers, and Other Investigators of America's Paranormal World,
Ghosthunting Ohio,
et al.
Henry
started out with John discussing Mexico's
Day of the Dead festivities,
mostly in the Mexican state of Oaxaca, and his touring down there, mentioning his
Pinterest gallery of the event.
He spoke about his origins, getting into the paranormal and such.
He met and befriended
Lorraine and Ed Warren,
both of whom John invterviewed.
He spoke about
Dark Entry and Dudleytown,
(close)
to which I mentioned having beenm when I lived back east.
He even wrote up a
Dark Entry ebook
on the haunted area.
Considered I asked
Book of Life.
After the first break
Ceiling Cat Barbara Duncan
asked about John's interest in the Mexican culture of death.
He clarified it was a slight mixture of the Incan and Mayan cultures, as well issues with the 16th Century introduction of Catholicism.
Unable to quash it outright
(shades of Samhain),
the Church absorbed it.
He also conveyed the concept of Day of the Day weddings.
As marriages are to survive beyond the grave, as well as having deceased relations in attendence.
As John is a minister and licensed to officiate weddings, he looks forward to performing such a Day of the Dead wedding.
Kat
had John speak of Ashtabula.
He first mentioned the
train disaster
there, and the rumours of
ghosts thereform,
but segued into the
Ashtabula library ghost.
Kat mentioned the
Willard Library ghost cams;
John spoke about activitiy at the
Pieora Library.
John explained his choice not to speak of hospitals, universities, and schools.
Henry referred to John's
Ghosthunting Illinois
book.
He spoke of visiting
wright-Patterson Airbase,
though with John they were very reluctant to answer any questions about Activity.
CC spoke of the similarities of hauntings with the
USS Hornet.
Henry brought up the Lincoln Tomb, about which John detailed, which contains a sarcophagus, but the actual body is in a deeply buried casket..
Henry asked about the
Gold Lamb Inn
in Lebanon, a former stagecoach stop.
During the war between the states, a standing senator,
Clement Vallandigham,
was convicted of sedition and Lincoln banished, him as opposed to execution.
He was able to return, and as a lawyer, he foolishy
shot himself during trial,
while demonstrating how the defendant could not have shot the victim; eventually died at the Golden Lamb.
Also Henry Clay is a suspected ghost there,
As I took us into the second break, I pointed out to John how, as a guest mentions plkaces and such, I quickly find a link to add to my reports, and realized the Gold Lamb Inn
article I'd found
was actually written by John in October 2009...
After the break CC reported that tonight apart from our elite regulars in the chat room, we had listeners in the US, the UK, Canada, Poland, Brazil, and Haiti.
Kat spoke about
Medina Steak Inn
(now called the
Medina Steak & Seafood Company).
Sherri in the chat room asked about whether John had had any negative experiences while researching or investigating
(he hasn't).
Henry recommended to John haunted
Ryan's Tavern.
Kat had him discussed
the Ridges,
formerly the
Athens Lunatic Asylum,
eventually incorporated into
Ohio University.
John spoke about his investigation/s there, including but not limited to a creepy Class A EVP.
John added that
Athens Ohio
is one of the most haunted areas.
Henry raised the topic of the 1847
Ye Olde Trail Tavern,
Ohio's Second Oldest Restaurant, in Yellow Springs, and John spoke about the known ghosts there.
John clarified aspects of the Illinois
Old Slave House
in Equality, about which Henry asked.
Having already given out his
Pinterest
information, John gave out his

where one can learn of his
upcoming events,
