Samhain/Halloween edition
Tonight was our Dark Days episode. Kat Klockow was not available tonight; she was off in a "conference 'somewhere'," as Henry put it.
We did have returning guest Marla Brooks of the Thursday night para-x show Stirring the Cauldron, who started out discussing the origins of the Celtic holiday Samhain, and how it devolved into Halloween, and "trick or treating."
We spoke about some of our childhood Halloween costumes, as well as Marla bringing up the creepy concept of Victorian Death Photos.
Henry played Marla's pre-recorded telling of a tale called The Old Witch
Henry also played the story The Hairy Toe, narrated by Steve Shockley.
Henry likes the old War of the Worlds radio legend, and had created with Steve a series of "emergency broadcast" announcements.
Henry then played my reading of one of my favourite Edgar Allen Poe stories, The Facts in the Case of M. Valdemar. As the full telling took about twenty minutes, Henry broke it into three segments to play throughout the show. Sadly, as he recorded it over my phone in the early afternoon, one can hear my doing it via telephone; irritatingly, it is nearly unintelligible.
Henry played another Marla story: Don't Turn On the Light.
CC took us into the "second break," which constisted of the second of three aspects of the Poe story recording. Henry hit a wrong button and lost the place, but as it was so inaudible anyway, the rest was scrapped.
CC reported out having listeners tonight in the US, the UK, Ireland, Canada, slovenia, and Haiti.
We discussed various horror films: I spoke about The Innocents, Marla mentioned The Witches, and Henry spoke of Hocus Pocus. CC mentioned liking The Sixth Sense and What Dreams May Come I tried bring up the awesome Trick 'R Treat, but it got sidetracked, and they took the opportunity to bring in Steve Shockley.
Henry then played the last pre-recorded story, Where's My Liver?. narrated by Steve Shockley.

Marla relayed her being a guest October 31st with Steve Shockley's Rock With The Show. Marla would be at the live streaming at the famous Shanley Hotel; she indicated she'd post at her website, and her para-x show Stirring the Cauldron, and updated Facebook information. I provided my website URL, the Paranormal View hub-page therein, that The Paranormal View page being easily findable on Facebook, et al.
