We started out discussing
Saint Louis Cemetary

and that
Saint Louis Cemetary #1
is the most famous as the most haunted.
The Super Dome from where one of the cemeteries had been moved and it wasn't until after Katrina, that the Saints there always lost.
Also mentioned were the famous grave of
Voodoo Priestess
Marie Laveau,
who was so deeply spiritual and beloved, that Kala devoted much of the chapter to her, and how she spelled a trial case to free a man's son on trumped up charges, and the father's gratefulness spread her reputation of her abilities.
CC
asked about Laveau's husband
Dr. John.
After a quick discussion on the concept of Voodoo Dolls and the
Voodoo Museum,
next up was about the
Old Ursuline Convent
and that the story goes that the French women who came across
with caskets,
and that this may have been how the
first vampires
came across to America,
and how New Orleans is all but a Mecca for Witches, Vampires, et al, and her having been to the house in which the recent season of
American Horror Story
was filmed.
She spoke about the famous 24-hour establishment
Cafe Du Monde
at which Kala would often see a ghost seeking out her lost love.
After the first break, after CC anounced our having listersn in the US, the UK, Ireland, Germany, and Puerto Rico,
discussed was the celebration of life rather than somberness when it comes to New Orleans funereal rites.
Kala went into some detail of where to go, such as restaurants in the very haunted French Quarter.
She went into detail about
Delphine LaLaurie,
who was fictionally portrayed by
Kathy Bates
in the third season of
American Horror Story,
her
mansion
of which
Nic Cage
bought but after one night never returned, it's so haunted.
She spoke of having one hotel, since changed hands and names, in which she has vivid dreams of visiting ghosts and talking cats, one of which advised her to find
Yesteryears,
which Kala managed to do.
After the second break we started speaking of her other book,
Ghosthunting North Carolina.
We started out speaking at length about the famous lost colony of
Roanoke
mystery.
She added that often with re-enactments, ghosts show up.
Henry asked about
Oakdale Cemetery
in
Wilmington,
about which he mentioned
Confederate Mound;
she spoke that it's one of the most haunted shorelines due to the shoals constantly shifting and causing shipwrecks.
Henry brought up the
Battleship North Carolina
and its
haunted reputation;
Kala experienced a more malevolent entity on the ship apart from the deceased sailors.
She also spoke of the
Flaming Ship of New Bern
and the
Devil's Tramping Ground:
within the forest being a
barren circle
in which nothing grows, but being Private Property she couldn't officially investigate.
Kala also discussed were the famous
Brown Mountain Lights,
using an excellent analogy in refering to the brilliant series
Babylon 5.
With a few minutes left, Henry asked about the
Bellamy Mansion
and that the wrought iron fence would contain spirits.
Kala gave out her official

and her
