A Very Special Paranormal View...
Performed live, Henry, Craig and I hosted our first annual
Paranormal View Holiday Edition,
what with it falling on Christmas Eve.
We still had a nice large chat room turnout, less surprising to me than to Henry.
Listeners tonight were from the US, Switzerland, Canada, UK and as always, Other...
Henry had "Mrs. Santa" first read a letter from
after which Craig retold the earliest Christmas he could recall.
Henry spoke of his, then I spoke of mine.
We also spoke a bit about our pets and Christmases past.
Henry had me convey the
history of Santa Claus
(within the USA);
I immediately followed this up with the
history of Krampus
the dark companion to St. Nicholas...
When I'd concluded, Craig conveyed relief that I'd read all that, as some of the Germanic and other European words would have had him a bit tongue tied.
Craig took us into the first break, one of the selections of which was most of
You're A Mean One, Mr. Grinch...
After the break, Craig updated
and "Mrs. Santa" read another letter, this time from
Craig confessed one year being on The Naughty List, avoiding going to relations' place he didn't like.
In the chat room it was theorized it was more self-preservation rather than being naughty...
Craig and I discussed various toys we'd had as kids;
Dandy the Lion,
Bucket of Slime,
later while looking for links and images for this report page, I came across
Buttons the Pup
which I also had.
I didn't even get into remembering some of the cool toys my brother had, such as
I took us into the second break, starting with
Carol of the Bells,
ironically the traditional first choir song of my high school's annual holiday concert.
After the break, Henry played a sound clip from
speaking of her favourite Christmas.
"Mrs. Santa" then read another letter, this one from Doug of Ghost Soldiers.
Henry had us speak about the Magick of Christmas while I checked out the comically animated
Track Santa in Google Earth
plug-in from which Craig was reporting; at one point showed his faster-than-light gift-delivering, which coming upon it made me think it was anti-aircraft fire.
A letter from Swampus was read by "Mrs. Santa"...
"Santa" himself "called in"
(vocally rather nightmarish),
creepily sounding like Abe Simpson, or even as one observant chat roomer indicated, a Dalek...
With a letter from Ceiling Cat in the chat room, Nyla took over reading for "Mrs. Santa" who indicated having to "go tuck in the elves," making my head go to Playboy December-issue themed line-drawing cartoons...
Being asked as to What Was On My List, I reported that general suggestions regarding same are on my dedicated
page, both for December and my traditionally-celebrated late-April birthday,
mostly being DVD titles, and books.
Henry closed out the show conveying that the next week would be our New Years Show, predictably enough.
