Annie Wilder
Our guest tonight was
Annie Wilder,
author of
Spirits Out of Time: True Family Ghost Stories and Weird Paranormal Experiences
and
House of Spirits and Whispers: The True Story of a Haunted House.
Originally she was scheduled for late spring, but somehow got rescheduled.
I'd acquired and read her two fascinating books
(characteristically having immediately added them onto my site's
Metaphysical Book/s
page),
and I looked forward to this guest on our show.
Pretty much paraphrasing from her
site's bio page,
I introduced Annie to the show:
"Annie Wilder's background is that of Irish-German roots and strong intuitive abilities, the unseen world of spirits, angels and lost souls has always been a familiar part of Annie's everyday life.
She is the author of two books
House of Spirits and Whispers: The True Story of a Haunted House.
and
Spirits Out of Time: True Family Ghost Stories and Weird Paranormal Experiences;
she hosts haunted tea parties in her spirit-filled Victorian home nestled in Hastings,
a sleepy Mississippi River town in Minnesota that clearly doesn't get enough coffee.
Annie has been a guest on the acclaimed Coast to Coast AM radio program
and her house has been featured in several television and print news stories,
investigated by teams of ghost hunters, and visited by a number of
prominent psychics including
Linda Drake
and
Echo Bodine."
Henry asked after what teams had teams had investigated her home.
Annie spoke of different groups, which had tons of EVPs, one group got a photo of a ghostly figure.
She related her experiences working with the
My Ghost Story
show, and indicated
her segment being within episode 203
which had aired in April 2011,
and the amusing aspects of the process.
She discussed her six siblings' experiences, even those who didn't believe in ghosts, her mother constantly seeing spirits specifically a little girl ghost, and that the skeptical brother during a visit seeing the same girl spirit himself....
Years later she and her mom took Reiki classes, and after taking the second class which had some powerful concepts, her mom medidated on the little girl and it turned out that the spectre itself was her mother...
Coming back from break, Henry conveyed our around the world listeners included listeners in the US, UK, Australia and Other.
Craig asked after her story of her walking through the woods at age ten.
For a kid the Lake Elmo area was a wonderful world to explore; she walked over a hill and saw a white farm house with broken windows and such.
She return to get her friend, and on her return she found the house gone.
She'd mentioning having read
a book I had in my youth.
Henry asked after her experience with a Ouija boards and playing the Bloody Mary "game"....
Having doing some quick, last-minute update/d checking, I learned that the other day there was an article on Annie in
This Week Live
about her books and experiences, and announcing that
the following Tuesday, September 13 at 6:30 pm, Annie Wilder would be speaking at the
Robert Trail Library
in Rosemount, Minnesota, as part of their free and open to the public "Meet the Author" series sponsored by the Rosemount Area Arts Council and the library.
I knew to make sure I'd be referencing this when I took us out to the second break.
On return, Henry commented on more listeners having joined us from Canada...
Annie discussed various aspects of her family's experiences, such as the Death Knock, leprechauns, fae and such.
She also brought up Leon, one of the primary resident ghosts she's come to feel as an ally.
Annie spoke of her husband seeing Leon and becoming a Believer, as well as her very psychic daughter Molly.
Henry suggested maybe setting up a Live Investigation at her home.
Annie loved the idea, clarifying No Provoking.
We discusssed her
Magical
[sic]
Afternoons Tarot and Tea at Annie Wilder's Haunted House
and her hosting
Haunted Tea Parties at her home
events, and her upcoming, in-progress
Trucker Ghost Story Project..
As the show wound down, Annie provided her
website and
Facebook,
her
Trucker Ghost Story Project Facebook page,
as well as how to follow her on
Twitter,
and
while not specifically mentioning her
annie at anniewilder dot com
email
(for the home-visit reservations, etc.),
it's right on her website.
As I had to race about to close windows and such as the next door neighbour figured 6:50pm was the best time to start using a friggin' table-saw out on his driveway just beyond the hedge,
Henry closed out the show doing the shout-out for next week's guest,
Robbie Thomas,
author of
Paranormal Encounters,
A Link To Heaven... Chats With the Other Side,
To You from Spirit,
Signs from Heaven,
and documentary film maker on
The Sallie House: Gateway to the Paranormal
DVD.
