Lia Scott Price
Our guest tonight was multiple book horror author
Lia Scott Price
of the
Serial Killer and Vampire Guardian Angels
series
(each of which being
linkably listed
on
on my fiction book page,
as well as below on this page).
Just before we went on the air, I pointed out that the day before
Lia had reported
with a friend
had gone on a "cool tour" of
Calvary Cemetery
out in
east Los Angeles.
with a ParaCon friend, looking for life-sized angel statues.
Lia had found it an eye-opening experience, previously unaware how many awesome old and creepy angel statues there were right in her "own backyard," as it were.
Henry started out speaking about her film producting; we clarified the projects being non SAG-signatory, so were I to... participate... such would have to be Under the Radar
(all sorts of waivers, et al).
Lia's ancesty from Germany, coming to Philadelphia, though she grew up in California.
She technically has not done any paranormal investigation, but she has has experiences....
She relayed being Sensitive to negative energies.
In church listening to a sermon about Guardian Angels, she got a chill;
making her question their "guardian" aspects of such entities.
She felt a near electric shock as she wandered about the church.
She began to posit, what if they are actually Evil...?
From this she began to formulate the world that became her book series.
In various places she would experience being cut to bleeding, headaches, et al.
I clarified whether the sort of killing spree mentality of "The Voices Told Me to
[kill, trying to kill myself],
et al," which she confirmed.
Originally her series was
a single trilogy,
also set up as screenplays and possibly graphic novel adaptations.
Her
The Serial Killer and Vampire Guardian Angel Diaries
film had some shifts from the original story, but retains the same concept.
She works very low budget, minimal crew, etc.
While she made a feature, on
YouTube
she has "select scenes" as shorts, per se,
a
first part
and
second part,
et al.
Filming
The Guardian
took about five weekends to shoot; the short/s take a lot less time.
Lia went into more details about her paranormal experiences, even having had a shaman help remove from her various negative entities that'd attached themselves to her.
Henry reported that tonight's listeners so far included listeners in the US, the UK, Ireland, Austraila, Finland.
While she has not done any paranormal investigating, she has stayed at haunted hotels, including but not limited to the
Brookdale Lodge
in Santa Cruz, experiencing all sorts of physical phenomenon; the drowned little girl writing.
She's been to the Queen Mary, and digital video taping, that one recording of which
will not
download to any computer....
She also discussed the logistics of cost on the films she's made thus far.
We indicated how technology was helping the less "professional'eque" film maker, and my coveting the
Nikon D5100.
Henry had me take us into the break, to which I said,
"You're listening to The Paranormal View on para-x.com with our guest horror author and film producer Lia Scott Price.
Stay tuned so we don't have to have your Guardian Angel rip out your throat.
I'm jus' sayin'...."
(Lia burst out a giggle, adding, "Awesome"...).
Zyke from the chat room asked about submitting a script, but Lia clarified she only produces her own scripts.
He clarified it was a prophetic poem, but Lia stressed what with copyright issues and such she cannot even though unsolicited material.
Henry followed up on her current branching out her stories into graphic novels.
We then began discussing the
Viscera Film Festival,
which would be held the following evening.
Originally I had thought, what with her linking to the July 17th
Viscera Film Festival
at the
Silent Movie Theatre
in Hollywood, that she was its creator.
Turned out she is only a volunteer.
We figured if she can take a break we can sneak off and see if we can Find Anything, as the Silent Movie Theatre
is
haunted...
She also strong recommended the short
Nursery Crimes.
Currently Lia has plans for another short being filmed sometime next year, probably about 20-30 minutes in length.
She's also considering a project on Haunted Angels; I suggested she be careful it not be confused with and/or similar to the sentient
Weeping Angels
from
Blink.
Lia pointed out were she to do any investigation, she'd probably be more the sort who can indicate any levels negative energy.
Henry realized the show was winding down, so he had Lia provide her
website
(she did neglect to provide her
Twitter
info),
and
Facebook
profiles.
As the following week's guests were being less than communicative, Henry wrapped us out without mentioning them.
Henry didn't remind Lia to Stay On after the show, so as the end concluded she was Gone.
Ooops.
Between the three of us we discussed probable upcoming guests...
