Author Roberta Grimes
I was really looking forward to the current edition's guest,
Roberta Grimes,
author of
The Fun of Dying: Find Out What Really Happens Next!,
which I'd obtained a couple of weeks earlier, and read literally at one sitting.
Predictably, I began promoting the book with the
direct one-click link to its Amazon page
both at the corresponding date on my guest-listing
Event Calendar
page, as well as on my
Metaphysics Books
page
(as well as below on this page),
but also as I found it one of the the most inspiring and uplifting books I'd ever read.
I was pleased to learn
at her website
that she had two more follow-up book as in the works, creating a Trilogy.
Henry started out with a classic old "people 'dying' to get in" joke,
and stumbled over the names of his co-hosts for a moment...
Craig then followed this by introducing Roberta and her book a la the style of the
Bob & Ray
sketch
Slow Talkers of America.
Roberta was a wonderful, exuberant guest.
Henry started out asking her for the background on the book; she conveyed her research abilities due to her attorney background.
At eight years old she had an Experience of Light
(as her book relates, albeit a bit cryptically).
She brought up the channels on a TV set analogy
(various stations within one TV set, similar to reality: multiple dimensions layered over each other)..
I admitted not having gone through the latter third of her book, which is appendices and souces, and inquried whether she'd read
Michael Talbot's
The Holographic Universe,
which she had and praised and indeed reports in her sources.
She felt Michael Talbot was born to write that book as he'd Transitioned somewhat shortly after the book was written.
I asked whether some of the experiences conveyed in the book are so far IN to the afterlife, was it due to time actually being non linear so they can be there for what is perceived as a long time there, when here it's only a few moments while they're being resucitated?
Indeed, Roberta confirmed that is the case.
She pointed out how people can Get Stuck, and tempted by lower-energy entities which have not much more amusement than to mess with newly-dead people's minds.
I strongly recommended she find a copy of the stage play
Greetings!
by
Tom Dudzik,
which I wish I could option and make into a feature film.
It features a family who has an Higher Level Enlightened Being enter their adult mentally challenged son.
At one point even he conveys that what seemed an accidental death may have been pre-chosen by the person who died.
I couldn't help quip there being countless Roberta Grimes on Facebook; she related
her own website
from which she indicated she responds to emails.
After Patty's Spotlight Report, Henry had me take us into the break.
Though I hadn't written up anything to say, I quickly improv'ed and managed to do it straight.
Back from the break, I asked if Roberta had gotten to meet
Elizabeth Kübler-Ross
and/or
Raymond Moody,
as I'd met
Kübler-Ross
when she spoke at my college in the early 1980s, speaking on her book
On Death and Dying.
She had met Raymond Moody, and she strongly recommended Moody's new book
Glimpses of Eternity.
Craig brought up the "surgery" that sometimes takes place when someone is mentally stuck about a problem they'd had while corporeal.
She related the story of the soldier whose "cure" beyond the surgery he didn't feel took, was having a woman come have sex with him.
Roberta then said that there's "more fun things to do" than sex in the Afterlife.
No sex?
I thought.
Makes me think now it's a
Mostly
Fun heaven...
We went to our second break at 6:22, Henry indicated that on our return, Joe of
Online Visions Magazine
would be in the show for an announcement
(essentially it was to announce that his show
[which follows our show],
would be EVP intensive).
Roberta mentioned
Summerland
which in the book she indicates being "a Viking term,"
though I always thought they called it Valhalla;
the Summerland I've always heard being of the pagan and neo-pagan community.
Roberta at one point mentioned
Guardian Angels and The Plan,
so I strongly recommended to her
(and the listeners),
The Adjustment Bureau
that
I had seen at the cinema
that morning.
She also indicated that while she's active with
her website
and
her book's site,
she's also become quite active at
Afterlife Forums.
I confess I was able to make numerous quips and jokes this edition.
Listening to the podcast later though, I was a bit non-plussed that many of my comments on were very soft, volume-wise, which I attribute to being an issue with Skype
(though the sound of typing was very noticeable throughout the show).
Roberta did clarify the distinction between an earth-bound spirit and higher energy spirits who are able to travel within our realm.
She had seen
What Dreams May Come,
but not yet
The Lovely Bones;
she felt the recent
Hereafter
to seem accurate, but that it didn't Go Far Enough.
Roberta "ended" with indicating there being no TV in the Afterlife
(early having indicated... no sex),
much to the "horror" of some of the chat room... and myself...
After we were off the air, I asked Roberta of her other upcoming books which apparently she confessed she still has to... write...
As she provided us with her email, while we spoke, I emailed her congrats, requested she add my Facebook, and the link to This Page for when it went online.
Amusingly, it took her a moment to connect that I was the sender
(the three of us pointing out a few times that I am Geoffrey Gould, which was the name of the sender...);
she thought it was from some random person either from the chat room or had heard the show from a different online source.
Roberta stressed how much she enjoyed being on the show.
We all agreed one day to have her return as a guest, what with
(as with her book/s that yet are to be written),
her having tons more to convey for listeners.
After we said our goodbyes to Roberta and she was off, Craig reminded Henry he and I were still not listed in the chat room as Moderators.
Henry communicated with Dave who changed it, so our chat room icons went from chat room blue to Moderator White, much to our hurrahs
(Sandi in the chat room congratulated us: Thou hast been knighted)...
