{"id":3,"date":"2008-03-17T20:32:47","date_gmt":"2008-03-18T04:32:47","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/geoffgould.net\/blog\/?p=3"},"modified":"2008-03-17T20:32:47","modified_gmt":"2008-03-18T04:32:47","slug":"tinkering","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/geoffgould.net\/blog\/?p=3","title":{"rendered":"Tinkering"},"content":{"rendered":"<p align=\"justify\"><font face=\"verdana\" size=\"1\">I&#8217;ve been tinkering a bit on the site.<br \/>\nOne by one I am editing and &#8220;transferring over&#8221; my older web pages (<font face=\"arial\" size=\"1\">the on-set reports, as I call them<\/font>), but as only a few &#8220;haphazard ones&#8221; have been done, I will hold off uploading them until I have a few good relevant (<font face=\"arial\" size=\"1\">e.g., recent<\/font>) ones.<br \/>\nIt&#8217;s not a super-easy task: while the text is there, the page formatting between my old site pages and the current <a href=\"http:\/\/geoffgould.net\" target=\"new\">geoffgould.net<\/a> site is a bit different, mostly simpler (<font face=\"arial\" size=\"1\">but pulling bit by bit the text from the &#8220;complicated pages&#8221; to align with the new format I&#8217;ve designed is just that: bit by bit<\/font>).<br \/>\nI have been working at learning CSS (<font face=\"arial\" size=\"1\">Cascading Style Sheets<\/font>), which would assist me in pre-formatting the pages of similar appearance: I&#8217;d just add the text in the proper place.<br \/>\nSo far it seems slightly more complicated than <font face=\"arial\" size=\"1\">HTML<\/font>, but while CSS seems learnable (<font face=\"arial\" size=\"1\">e.g., for me to learn it<\/font>), I&#8217;m not sure if it really is user-friendly.  Of the examples\/tutorials I&#8217;ve seen, many\/most seem to operate under the presumption one already <em>knows<\/em> it.  I&#8217;ve no spare cash with which to acquire a <strong><a href=\"http:\/\/westciv.com\/style_master\" target=\"new\">CSS editor<\/a>,<\/strong> though it&#8217;s tempting.
